Unstoppable – the Ultimate Underdog, True-to-Life Sports Movie Gets Two-Minute Standing Ovation at Toronto International Film Festival
A crowd of 7,000 movie buffs joined stars Jennifer Lopez, Don Cheadle, Bobby Cannavale, Jharrel Jerome and producer Matt Damon to celebrate the world premiere and gave a rousing standing ovation for Anthony and his mom.
The movie tells the story of Anthony (portrayed by Jerome), who dreams of being a college wrestler. But first he must find a coach that believes in him, figure out how to pay for school, and deal with his abusive step-father (Cannavale).
He’s doesn’t get much attention from the college coaches, as having only one leg is perceived as a limitation. To Anthony, these setbacks are only fuel to success. Encouraged by his mother (Lopez) “to find a way”, he never fails to keep going – and inspires others along the way.
Wrestling scenes from the 2011 NCAA Championships will take you back as you recall the events with many familiar names, faces and cameo appearances.
Unstoppable is being showcased at film festivals across the country and winning awards, recently receiving the Audience Choice Award at the Aspen Filmfest.
